Owner anxious, try 44K. The first impression when you walk aboard is important. Even on the hard, stretch wrapped and ready for winter, this boat shows well. Now that she is back in the water it really shines. The hull is freshly waxed and looks fantastic. Everything is clean, in great shape and nicely done. Roomy and open. Great design. Lot's of big windows in salon and master stateroom. Fresh water, 1988, Chris Craft Catalina Double Cabin is an enlarged version of the very popular 350 Catalina introduced by Chris Craft a few years earlier. Built on a solid fiberglass, modified Vee hull with a beefy, wide beam, the 381 has an enormous interior for her size as well as a family-friendly helm/aft deck platform. Her galley-up accommodations include two roomy staterooms, tub/shower enclosures in both heads, adequate storage and full walk around decks. Not bad for a 38 foot cruiser. Topside, the helm is on the same level as the upgraded aft deck seating, so the helmsman is able to interact with the passengers. Additional features include a roomy engine room accessed via hatches in the salon sole, a bow pulpit and a swim platform. This Catalina is well set up for live aboard and is equipped with a 10 foot hard bottom Zeppelin dinghy with 9.9 Force outboard. Everything from tools to towels comes with this Catalina, just add water, clothing and provisions.The third owner has kept her clean and well maintained, as a summer live aboard you can be sure everything is in good working order. The enclosed aft deck and helm area are very roomy. A corner settee has replaced the normal deck chairs and provide more seating and stowage. It's a great entertaining or relaxation area with protection from the elements when needed and plenty of fresh air and sun when not. The center line helm provides superior visibility and adequate room to navigate. For navigation there is a Garmin 162 GPS map. Standard Horizon VHF. Raytheon L265 fish finder/depth gauge. Danforth Constellation compass, the nice big one. The helm is nicely laid out with all gauges easily visible, nothing crowded together. There is plenty of room to add more electronics should you need them. There is also plenty of room for a PC or tablet for navigation and entertainment. A nice sized wet bar with basin and ice maker is on the port side.Accommodations Stepping down to the salon, the traditional corner couch has been upgraded to twin lazy Boy chairs. To Port is a bar area, with two stools, adjacent to the galley for meals, games or what have you. The galley is a "U" shaped layout with plenty of storage, appliances and stainless steel sink. There is access to the salon from the aft deck and a port side sliding side door. Galley maid three burner stove and a Sharp grill/convection oven will make meal prep a breeze. the refrigerator has been upgraded to a 110V good size fridge. The guest stateroom is forward and would be great for the kids. There is a center line queen berth and ample room and storage including a very large hanging locker. To port is the head with a separate shower.The owner's stateroom is aft and offers a center line walk around king size bed, ample drawers under side counters, a night table area and two hanging lockers. The many windows and mirrors make the stateroom feel open and airy. The en suite head sports a separate tub/shower.Up on the bridge deck there is a wet bar with a sink and ice maker. The bridge deck is fully enclosed with isinglass which is in good condition with some slight discoloration to a couple of windows. Give it a 7 out of 10. Could easily go a few seasons before it needs to be replaced. The entire deck is covered for total weather protection. Several large opening panels allow good ventilation. canvas fits very well so no flapping in the breeze.This boat has all the usual gear, Water heater , Twin 30 amp shore power connections. 6.5 KW generator with 235 hours.. Battery charger. Three windshield wipers. 3 Reverse cycle marine Air units.Plus, you get a fully equipped boat, Coffee maker. All dishes, flatware and towels stay with boat. There is also a full array of tools. Only 580 hours on well maintained engines. The 454s give a 17 MPH cruise or will cruise miserly at trawler speeds. The running gear and bottom are in very good condition. No nicks or bumps on the 3 blade props and the bearings look good. Bottom shows no signs of repairs or problems.All in all, this is a great value. You will need to bring very little of your own to slip the lines and head to ports unknown. All upgrades have been done smartly to make her more liveable while maintaining the look and flow of her great design. She is wet and ready to go.If you are looking for a very liveable boat for weekends or longer, this is it.
